May Work session Notes

The first work session of the 43rd Cheverly Town Council was packed with some really great information! A few of our neighbors have been asking me about attending work sessions or town meetings and so here is the basic information.

The second Thursday of each month is the Town Meeting that starts at 8pm in the gym at Town Hall. Each meeting has a dedicated time for public input.  This is a great time to bring your concerns to the council to start the conversation.  The work sessions are the fourth Thursday of each month and start at 7:30 in the conference room at Town Hall and the agenda is set ahead of time but there are opportunities for the audience to comment on the items.  Please come to both and let us know how you feel about the issues at hand!

This most recent meeting was Thursday May 25 and started with the approval of $800 for The Woman's Club Peace camp.  The new council was briefed on the duties and responsibilities of the office.

May Town Meeting Notes

Our first town meeting was really great!  The highlight (for my kids, at least) was the cake from Sweet Bobbi's.  It was an honor to be sworn in as your new Council Member and I look forward to working with each of you going forward.  In order to facilitate communication I have created a virtual comment box, unless you would like a response from me, all comments are confidential.  Please feel free to fill it out here

After the swearing in and cake break we all had the opportunity to recognize the great work of our police force, the first presentation was to recognize a few officers and Mayor Mike for their quick work when a local child had a medical crisis in January.  Additionally, the entire force received a citation for their great work at reducing the crime rate in Cheverly.


The Recreation Council has a $500 scholarship to a Cheverly resident who is enrolled full time in an academic or vocational program in the 2016-2017 academic year.  For applications call Judy De…

Thank you all for your support throughout the election season!  I am so excited to say that I won!  It was a close race and I am really excited that I will be your next councilmember!  I'm really excited to get to work and feel like it's only appropriate to start my time with the great line from the West Wing.
