Happy New Year!

After over six months of discussion and public input the Cheverly Town Council voted unanimously to approve the Cheverly Non-Intervention Ordinance.  This bill states that the Cheverly Police Department shall not detain or arrest an individual based solely on their immigration status.  Additionally, the ordinance asserts that all town, benefits, services and opportunities are available for all resident regardless of immigration status.  Thank you, Council Member Ivey for introducing this important legislation.  If you would like to read the full text it is available here.

Traffic Study Input Session Jan. 25

Traffic Study
A public input session for the Traffic Study of the NE quadrant of town will be on Jan. 25th at 7pm.  The Area being studied encompasses most of Ward 6 and Ward 3 and goes down Cheverly Avenue from Rt. 202 to the Methodist Church and then over to both of the Elementary schools.  I have heard concerns about speeding and congestion from folks all across the 6th Ward and this is a valuable opportunity to come and have your concerns heard by the traffic engineers.
